El Pueblo de Peña Bernal, se ubica en el estado de Querétaro en el municipio de Ezequiel Montes, es un lugar perfecto para pasar unas vacaciones ya sea en familia, con amigos o en pareja.

Es un lugar tranquilo, pequeño y muy instagrameable para que tomes las mejores fotografías. Además de su cercanía con la Ciudad de México, es la puerta de entrada a la Sierra Gorda, tiene una ubicación privilegiada ya que está cerca del Pueblo Mágico de Tequisquiapan y por supuesto pertenece a una de las regiones vitivinícolas más importantes del país, formando parte de la famosa ruta del vino y el queso. 

 

A pesar de ser un lugar pequeño no deja de ser maravilloso y lleno de actividades para que la pases increíble, puedes hacer infinidad de cosas, es el tercer monolito más grande del mundo, La Peña de Bernal es un lugar místico en donde puedes recargarte de energía, hacer deportes extremos como rappel y escalada, todo en un ambiente de un pueblo que se quedó en el pasado.

También te podrá sorprender la deliciosa y variada gastronomía que hay en este lugar, como garambullos, mezquites y huizaches además del delicioso vino, una gran variedad de quesos y si hay algo que no te debes de perder en tu visita a Peña de Bernal, es el pan de queso y los famosos esquites de mil y un sabores.

De lo mejor qué hacer en Bernal es adentrarte por la Calle Independencia, para visitar el Museo de la Máscara. Tiene más de 300 piezas traídas de diferentes latitudes, algunas están talladas en penca de maguey deshidratada o en hueso, por mencionar algunos.

En esta misma calle encontrarás puestos que ofrecen el platillo típico, las gorditas de maíz quebrado. Pero, si buscas una comida o cena más formal, date una vuelta por la calle Juan Aldama, con restaurantes y bares coquetos. Tenemos que advertirte algo, Peña de Bernal no es muy popular por su vida nocturna, así que la fiesta en el pueblo se termina antes de la una de la mañana.

 

Para comprar artesanías, nada como el Centro Artesanal La Aurora, frente al Jardín Principal. Aquí verás a los artesanos en acción, confeccionando abrigos, rebozos, tapetes y cojines hechos en lana y tejidos aun en el tradicional telar de pedal.

Despite being a small place, it is still wonderful and full of activities for you to have an incredible time, there are countless things to do, it has the third largest monolith in the world, La Peña de Bernal is a mystical place where you can recharge energy, doing extreme sports such as rappelling and climbing, all in an ambience of a town that stayed in the past.

You may also be surprised by the delicious and varied gastronomy that there is in this place, such as garambullos, mesquites, and huizaches as well as the delicious wine, a wide variety of cheeses and if there is something that you shouldn't miss on your visit to Peña de Bernal, it is cheese bread and the famous esquites with a thousand different flavors.

One of the best things to do in Bernal is to go down Independencia street, to visit the Museum of the Mask. It has more than 300 pieces brought from different latitudes, some are carved in dehydrated maguey stalk or bone, to name a few.

But, if you are looking for a more formal lunch or dinner, take a stroll down Juan Aldama Street, with its cute restaurants and bars. We must warn you, Peña de Bernal is not very popular for its nightlife, so the party in town ends before one in the morning.

To buy handcrafts, nothing like the La Aurora Artisan Center, in front of the Main Garden. Here you will see the artisans in action, making coats, rebozos, rugs, and cushions made of wool and woven even on the traditional pedal loom.
